A Mindfulness Day Retreat:
Cultivating a Wise Heart, Clear Mind, and Steady Presence for Challenging Times
Facilitated by Laurie Cousins
Invitation Only / Limited Space Available / RSVP Required
In a world of constant change and uncertainty, filled with demanding schedules, political anxiety, digital distraction, and the weight of injustice and division, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and disconnected from inner peace and deeper wisdom.
As Autumn invites us inward, this retreat offers a sacred pause. Time to slow down and soften into stillness as we reflect and reconnect with the simple gifts of life that surround us. By cultivating mindfulness, gratitude, and equanimity, we strengthen our capacity to meet life with resilience, build our courage for life’s challenges, and deepen our sense of belonging to one another and to our beloved Earth.
This retreat will be held in noble silence and includes meditation with particular emphasis on heart practices, gentle mindful movement, mindful eating, wisdom reflection, and short periods of discussion at the end of the day.
We will explore spacious awareness, insight, and gratitude not as fleeting feelings, but as a doorway to a sense of steadiness, strength, and inner freedom.

“Equanimity can be described as balance, a spacious stillness that allows us to accept things as they are, avoiding apathy and indifference on the one hand and driven reactivity on the other. When true equanimity is present, it is the ground out of which resilience is strengthened and sustained transformation can occur. The nourishing agent for equanimity is wisdom.” ~ Sharon Salzburg
